How to Use This Library

The same prayer can be approached as worship, translation, language study, or theology.

Four modes

Pray

Keeps the original text, full English sequence, and audio in view with minimal interruption.

Translate

The best default: source text, complete English, readable English, and learning aids.

Word by Word

Opens the interlinear. Tap each source word for lemma, grammar, gloss, confidence, and notes.

Study

Adds Asha interpretation, source boundaries, textual cautions, and technical notes.

Recommended path

  1. Learn Ashem Vohu in Translate mode.
  2. Open Word by Word and tap each of its twelve forms.
  3. Compare the compact glosses with the full sentence translation.
  4. Continue with Yatha Ahu Vairyo and Yenghe Hatam.
  5. Move to the Kusti sequence, then the appropriate Gāh.
  6. Approach the Niyayeshes as long composite liturgies.

The central distinction

A gloss helps decode a word. A translation reconstructs a sentence. A commentary interprets theology. They are related, but they are not interchangeable.
