The Book of DieselThe Light Before the Gospel“Neria was old when a student read back the line about those who sleep in the dust awakening. She had copied it decades earlier while expecting death in the street. Now the words reached her as a widow who wanted to see Mattithiah again.”

Interpretive reconstructionA documented text or tradition is interpreted through openly fictional scenes.
Clear resurrection expectation becomes prominent in late biblical and apocalyptic texts, including Daniel 12, within a wider field of possible Iranian influence and internal development.
Neria's old age and conversations with later students are fictional.
