Sacred traditionTraditional religious material; historical dating and narrative form remain distinct.
The Bundahišn gives a sequence of sky, water, earth, plant, the uniquely created bull, Gayōmard, and fire, with fire understood as permeating the other creations. Comparable creation lists have older Avestan parallels.
The voices attributed to the creations are literary personification. The sequence and major images are adapted from Zoroastrian cosmogonic tradition.
