The Book of DieselThe Light Before the Gospel“The court contained banquets, decrees, rival families, military grief, and women whose names rarely reached later sacred texts. There was no Esther walking its corridors, no Mordecai at its gate, no Haman planning empire-wide extermination in the surviving Persian record.”

Historically anchoredThe setting or public event is documented; dialogue, motives, and recurring characters are invented.
Greek sources identify Amestris as Xerxes's queen; the historical Persian court differs sharply from Esther's later literary court.
Roxana the physician and her private relationship with Amestris are fictional; Greek accounts of royal women are themselves interested and sometimes hostile.
